  28. BIGSURF Netguide has now become a "virtual" web site available
  29.        right from your own "home drive". It is presented in HTML format.
  30.        Simply double click on the appropriate icon (depending on the type
  31.        of web browser that you are using) and away you go. Netscape is
  32.        the preferred web browser - but any web browser will do nicely.

  40. If you are using a web browser that does not "match up" to the
  41.        included "Start Here" files you can simply launch your particular
  42.        web browser that you normally use and open any one of the "Start Here"
  43.        documents from within your browser. (Go to the File Menu and choose
  44.        Open or Open Document). BIGSURF Netguide will then be loaded into
  45.        your web browser. You will then begin your BIGSURF Netguide journey
  46.        and continue on to many surfing adventures...  Enjoy!

  49. For further information on how to begin your BIGSURF Netguide
  50.        adventures - please read the document entitled "Read Me First"

  53. We feel that by literally placing the BIGSURF web site right on
  54.        your hard-drive that the speed and ease of use will delight you.
  55.        You will immediately notice the quick response and speed gains
  56.        by distributing BIGSURF in this format. We hope that this new
  57.        way of distributing BIGSURF (in HTML) will be favorable to all.

  60. A plain text version of the BIGSURF Netguide is also available
  61.        to users preferring this format. It can be read using any text
  62.        editor that can read large text files or can be opened and viewed
  63.        using any word processor. This plain text version is made for those
  64.        users which do not have access to a web browser or cannot access
  65.        the World-Wide Web yet still want the wealth of information that
  66.        is available in BIGSURF as it contains many FTP, Gopher and Telnet
  67.        resources on the Internet. You can use your text-editor's or your
  68.        word processor's built in "Find" function or menu command to enter
  69.        in keywords and thus be able to "surf" the plain text guide using
  70.        this "Find" command. Of course you can always scroll through the
  71.        BIGSURF document and browse the plain text file in this way too.

  75.        publication and distribution of this BIGSURF digital document.
  76.        This BIGSURF publication in any of its many formats should not be

  85.        hear our plea for needed donations as this is a project that takes

  102.        must be able to accept attached files coming in from the Internet
  103.        to be able to take advantage of this mail list feature. (They are
  104.        officially known as MIME attachments). If you are using Eudora or
  105.        are using a Unix emailer such as Pine or Elm then you can most
  106.        definitely be emailed attachments. If you are using a commercial
  107.        service provider such as Compuserve, AOL, Prodigy or Delphi then
  108.        please ask your provider whether incoming MIME attachments from the
  109.        Internet are supported in their email functionality.

  113. Please stop for a minute and read...
  114.        You could easily pay a lot more for commercially published site
  115.        lists and expensive magazines filled with intrusive advertising
  116.        and get far less than what BIGSURF offers... think about it.
